Tyler KohfeldAssistant Wine Club Manager
Name: Tyler Kohfeld (I also respond to ‘Tré”, “T-Bone”, “T-Money”, or any combination thereof)
Hometown: Sonoma, CA
Been at Miner since: May 2015
Why the wine industry? Even though my family has owned a vineyard in the Carneros AVA of Sonoma since the early 1980’s, initially the wine industry was not on my radar as something I had any interest in. As I got older, I really learned to appreciate wine and I realized what an amazing and fascinating industry this really is. I feel lucky to be a part of it now and at this point I wouldn’t consider doing anything else.
Favorite part of your job: I truly enjoy connecting with the people I meet and learning about their backgrounds.Wine also has the ability to give people intense joy and if drinking a special bottle of wine creates a cherished memory or experience for somebody, I think it is incredibly cool that I play a small part in that.
Last meal? An all-you-can-eat buffet. Theoretically my last meal could be for eternity. I suppose I love food and I never want it to end.
Little known fact about you: Not many know this, but I take immense pride in the appearance of my yard and I love to garden. Putting my hands in the earth gives me a deep sense of calm.
If you could have one superpower, what would it be? I would love to be able to time-travel. It would be great to get a glimpse of the far, distant future…or perhaps make a few harmless tweaks to the past.
You love: Dogs of all shapes and sizes, hats, and baseball (not necessarily in that order).
You hate: Not much, but people making noises while they eat can drive me up a wall. Also, people who constantly contradict themselves are really annoying.
Hidden talent: I’m an avid amateur photographer and whether I plan to take photos or not, I pretty much bring my camera everywhere.
Favorite wine/varietal: Grenache or Pinot Noir
You’re a die hard: friend (or at least I try to be).
