La Diligence Syrah Stagecoach Vineyard

A shared passion for Rhône varietals led friends and vintners Dave Miner and Francois Villard to create this unique wine – the perfect combination of Napa Valley fruit and traditional French winemaking techniques. The fruit for this Syrah comes exclusively from the Stagecoach Vineyard, which inspired the name “La Diligence” meaning “The Stagecoach” in French. This Syrah displays classic northern Rhône structure and flavors with ripe, dark fruit characteristics and just the right amount of smoky spice. Great with grilled red meat and game.

La Diligence Syrah, Stagecoach Vineyard

91 Points Connoisseurs’ Guide to California Wine, November 2009

“Rich and far-ranging in aroma and quite complex and rewarding in flavor, this concentrated wine delivers smells of Syrah spice, roast beef and energetic blackberry fruit. It is full and fleshy on the palate, and its evident acid does a good job of offsetting an underlying tendency to flabbiness and its tannins give it structure that will keep it in good stead for the next three to five years. It is the kind of Syrah that accompanies a savory leg of lamb better than any other wine.”

Stagecoach Vineyard

Stagecoach Vineyard, owned by the Krupp family, is one of the most ambitious vineyard developments to date. Situated upon a stagecoach trail from the 1800′s, this 800-acre vineyard was planted around enormous rocks and boulders atop the eastern hills of Napa Valley.
