“While we like this wine’s aroma of deep, well-ripened cassis and sweet oak, we would like them more but for their faint scents of mushrooms and muddy earth. In the mouth, the wine exhibits good volume and ripeness but is a little rough and raw at the edges after a surprisingly supple start. Its uneven nature leaves us a bit in the dark as to where it might go with age, but it shows richness enough to wine at least qualified endorsement.”
