“Often among the top-rated Viogniers, this version is equipped with the peachy fruit of the variety but stops short of out-and-out lushness of previous editions in its aromas and is too quickly given over to heat and glycerin on the palate. That it comes as close as it does is a testament to the potential that can be found in selected sites in the Central Valley, but inner softness and heat do take it just off the pace.”
