Volker Eisele Vineyard Chiles Valley

Founded in the 1970s by one of Napa Valley’s pioneers of that era, the 400-acre property in the Chiles Valley AVA, east of St. Helena, has been associated with several of the Valley’s most revered brands. Since the 2019 vintage, Volker Eisele has provided Miner Family with some its most structured and complex Cabernet Sauvignon grapes.

Varietals: Cabernet Sauvignon

Planted: 1974

Owner/Farmer: Eisele Family

Soil: Tahoma series, gravelly clay loam

Site/Climate: Sitting at elevations of 900 to 1100 feet, the Chiles Valley District has a longer and cooler growing season than the floor of Napa Valley. An opening in its northwestern section allows for heat-mitigating breezes from the Pacific Ocean to funnel through the valley.
