A rare single-clone, single-vineyard bottling, the Rosella’s Vineyard Pinot Noir “777” is both intense and appealing with floral, exotic spice aromas and a silky textured palate of dark berry fruit. The “777” Dijon clone is a specific variety within the Pinot Noir family originally from Burgundy’s Morey St. Denis region in France.
The 2023 Rosella’s Vineyard 777 Pinot Noir is 100% clone 777. Light to medium ruby-purple in color, it needs a lot of shaking to wake up scents of cranberries and kirsch, plus nuances of lavender, tilled soil, and mossy tree bark. The medium to full-bodied palate is all about vibrancy and freshness with elegant red berry flavors and silky tannins, finishing long and lifted. – Lisa Perrotti-Brown
Overlooking the Salinas River Valley, the 50-acre Rosella’s Vineyard rests along the benchlands of the Santa Lucia Mountain Range. Owners Gary and Rosella Franscioni planted the vineyard in 1996 using the Pisoni clone from La Tâche and the Dijon “777” clone.
