Casey GuerraTasting Room Manager
Name: Casey Guerra
Hometown: Fremont, California
Been at Miner since: October 2023
Why the wine industry? While not originally from Napa, I’ve been visiting with my family since I was a kid so I developed a natural appreciation for the different varietals and styles of winemaking in Napa Valley. After college, I was given the opportunity to move to the area to join the wine industry. Little did I know, I would instantly fall in love with everything wine – the history, the diversity of flavors and textures across varietals and vintages, and the hospitality.
Favorite part of your job: I love to teach others about wine. My favorite part of the job is watching that *moment* when a guest realizes that learning about wine is a lot easier (and much less intimidating) than they think. It’s a beautiful thing to witness first-hand because you can see that they connect with the wine on a whole different level and appreciate it so much more!
Last meal: My uncle’s Firehouse Caesar Salad – it’s got a bit of a kick!
Little known fact about you: I have a twin sister. No, we don’t look alike.
If you could have one superpower, what would it be? Super knowledge! I think it would be really neat to have the power to learn new languages and concepts instantaneously.
You love: Pups! I have one of my own. Miner Family Winery is dog friendly so I get to meet a lot of furry friends at work too.
You hate: Being cold.
Hidden talent: I’m pretty handy. I can fix almost anything.
Favorite wine/varietal: It depends on the weather, the food, whether or not Mercury is in the microwave…etc. Lately, I’ve been into sparkling and crisp whites.
You’re a die hard: Empath. I can feel someone’s energy long before I set eyes on them.
Best quote: Hanlon’s Razor principle: “Never attribute to malice that which can be adequately explained by incompetence or ignorance”.
